Prompt: In Emily Dickinson’s “I Felt a Funeral, in My Brain,” the speaker experiences a mind that seems to work against her. Sometimes our own thoughts can make a situation feel worse than it actually is. Describe a time when overthinking, worrying, or doubting yourself affected the way you handled a situation. What did you learn from the experience?

A time where overthinking and worrying affected the way I handled something was when I had to do a Lab in Physics and I had no friends to work with. I ended up in a random group with people I don't know outside of school. That overall made the lab less interesting for me and i think it affected my performance in the lab too. I also think that i did the least work because I was less motivated. We passed the lab so it wasn't all bad but i definitely could have done better. I learned how to make do with what I had. Summary: We read a poem about moving on from a relationship. Reflection: I learned how to analyze a poem. I will definitely look at things that I read more in depth.

Describe one thing that makes you different from other people.

One thing that makes me different from others is how accepting I am. I am open to all hobbies and I think whatever makes you happy is cool. I believe that you shouldn't be trapped doing something you don't find fun doing. I like the ability to have a choice in what you want to be successful in.

Write about an adventure you would like to go on.

An adventure I would like to go on is going to New York. I like the tall buildings and the liveliness of the streets. There is also a lot to do in New York like eating food or going to see lady liberty. I would also like to go on a road trip. it doesn't really matter where as long as it is farther than forida because I've been too many times.

What is the most creative thing you have ever made? Share what it was and explain why it stands out as your best work.

The most creative thing I ever made includes most of my art and sketches. I think it stands out because its unique to me and how I've have been creating art for most of my life. My best artworks are probably some of my digital drawings even though I have less experience. I really enjoy drawing and hope to turn it into something big.

Everyone has burning questions about life. Mysteries we wonder about but don’t always have clear answers for. Think about your biggest questions about existence, purpose, or the world around you. Write a blog post where you share at least two of your most burning questions about life and explain why these questions matter to you.

My biggest question about existence is if there is any life outside of human on earth. I feel like we cant be the only instance where we constantly evolve into having so much knowledge. My other question is that if there was life on another planet would they be smarter than us or not? I think that they would be less advanced but they would sort of be like cavemen.

Analyze how you’ve adapted to the demands of this course over the past week, and evaluate one strength and one challenge you anticipate as we progress, justifying your insights with personal examples.

I  have adapted to the demands this week by taking everything one thing at a time and not letting myself get bombarded by all the work. One strength I had was my ability to finish all the classwork on time. One challenge is the blog posts. The classwork is very manageable and easy. The blog post already  Summary: Creating the origin myth Reflection: I did good  in class and got a start on my Origin myth

How did creating your own origin myth help you better understand why cultures use stories to explain the origins of people, places, traditions, or natural events? In your response, describe the choices you made while developing your myth and explain the lesson, value, or human responsibility you wanted your story to communicate.

Creating my own origin myth showed me that storytelling can turn abstract ideas into concrete lessons. Explaining natural events with creative story telling can really bring home a central idea or moral. In my Origin myth, i wanted to show how there will always be challenges and it is important that you never lose sight of your goals despite any distractions. There will always be someone in the way and i think my story will convey that. Summary: today in class we planned and wrote origin myths. Reflection: I learned how to set up a story properly through writable.

A meaningful object or place in my life that carries a story.

A meaningful object that carries a story in my life is all of my sketchbooks. They show my progress from when i started to now and how much I've improved. I can also look at certain drawings and reminisce on what was happening and the events going on at that time. It is a really grounding experience looking back on all the drawings I have put into those books from time to time. I keep all of my sketchbooks in a box where i can keep them nice and clean in case i ever want to look back. Summary: Today we read an Origin myth and we identified the components through an actual Origin myth. Reflection: I learned how to look at a text and understand the theme it is trying to convey. I also learned that the Origin myths have biblical connections.

A time I felt connected to nature

A time I felt connected to nature was when I used to play football. The air smelt way different than anywhere inside. My hands were on the ground touching grass and dirt. I would carry dirt on my clothes all the way back home. There were always bugs and i even stepped into an ant hill once. Summary: Today we learned about myths, religion, urban legends, and the characteristics of an origin myth. reflection: I learned exactly what an allusion was and the types of themes used in stories.
